Monica Freeman Holb

Monica Freeman Holb, a 2009 Butler University journalism and creative writing graduate, is a Washingtonian by day, but a Hoosier at heart. (She skipped the beginning of the State of the Union address to watch the end of the Purdue basketball game.)

After turns writing communications for utility transfers, and creating a vision for and getting kids interested in STEM in Northeast Indiana, she followed her handsome husband, Preston, out to the land of monuments, lobbyists, cupcakes and government contractors: Washington, D.C. She now spends her days writing and editing and weekends as a permanent tourist. Newseum, check. Capitol tour, check. Lincoln Memorial, check.

Her interests include newsprint ink on your finger tips, freshly brewed coffee, donuts with sprinkles, NPR, texts from her parents, her husband’s dimples, her little brothers’ future plans, and a puppy named Tippe. There are others, but those are most important.
