Jon Irons is out of work and desperate. Finishing up his master’s degree in anthropology from the University of British Columbia, he is interested in infusing creativity into academic writing and teaching. He does this in part by writing and performing songs about anthropology, or “jam-thropology.” He brings to The Liberal Artist an unjustified but productive cynicism and satirical creative writing style. Jon also fancies himself a photographer and will place his pictures wherever they’ll be accepted.
Jon’s interests include the X-Files, dinosaurs, zombie apocalypse preparedness, acoustic guitar, vegetarian burritos from Taqueria El Grullense, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., growing facial hair, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, birdwatching, pirating movies, television and music, and frisking about in his Barbaloot suit.
He currently lives in Mountain View, California, with his fiancée, Allison, whom he is trying to convince to adopt a dog.
